64-72 Chevelle Global West Control Arms

Upper Arms: Benefits and Features.
Part # CTA-42AP

G-Plus control arms are designed to give a tremendous amount of cornering and straight line stability. G-Plus is referred to as being as close to a Negative Roll geometry system without being  negative roll.  (Negative roll is considered to be the best suspension geometry for handling applications for A-body cars). Negative roll is not for drag applications.

These kits are designed for performance street, however cars crossing over into drag racing and road racing are also utilizing this applications.

G-PLUS arms use stock or 2 inch drop spindles drop spindles. They can also be used with ATS spindles. The arms have additional caster built into the them and a improved camber curve. The combination keeps the tire contact patch flatter on the pavement. A bump stop is installed on the control arm eliminating the stock one on the frame. The new bump stop location allows for a limiter, which can be installed for dedicated drag cars. Billet cross shafts and Poly bushings (which reduce suspension drag) are incorporated making this control arm superior for all applications. New alignment specifications are included. Del-A-Lum Bushings are also available.

Lower Arms:

Part # CTA-42LP

Each control arm provides maximum strength and durability. Built out of 1-5/8 roll cage tubing these control arms are stronger then stock and can handle the stresses incurred during high cornering loads and today's aggressive tire/wheel packages.

  • No special ball joints are required for later servicing.

  • A unique rotating spring mount is used which allows a perfect spring index every time.

  • A special sway bar end link is furnished with each control arm.

Tech Tip: You should always check the factory lower arm at the ball joint location for cracks and tears. Over the years it is not uncommon to see damage in this area.

Uses stock spindles:  This kit comes complete with lower ball joints, bump stops, and polyurethane bushings, sway bar attachments and rotating spring cushions. The arms are fully assembled for easy installation.

Del-a-lum Suspension Bushings

Front performance control arm bushings: (Del-a-lum suspension bushings)

Del-a-lum (pronounced della-loom) suspension bushings achieve unquestioned suspension control that
can be utilized for street, strip, road racing, and oval track.

Del-A-lum bushings are approved for all NHRA classes including stock.

What is a Del-a-Lum bushing?
Del-a-lum bushings in suspension perform like a bearing but are still considered a bushing.

The outer portion of the bushing is an aluminum housing. The aluminum housing is machined with grease groves and has provision for a grease fitting. The bushing presses into the control arm similar to that of a factory bushing. The internal part of the bushing has a plastic rotating sleeve. The sleeve provides isolation between the steel pin and /or shaft (depending on location). The sleeve also acts as a bearing surface for the control arm to pivot on. Each side of the bushing has additional plastic thrust washers backed by steel thrust washers. The thrust washers are separate from the internal sleeve and provide fore and aft control. A grease fitting is employed with each bushing so full lubrication is achieved. Del-alum bushings do not squeak or make noise. They are exclusive with Global West. The Del-a-Lum bushings are also approved for several racing associations including NHRA. We manufacture them for several companies including one of the majors.

Del-a-lum bushings provide :

  • Zero deflection without suspension bind.
Perfect for all types of driving.
  • Smooth movement up and down.
  • Grease fittings provide full lubrication.
  • Internal grease grooves transfer lubrication throughout the bushing which promotes bushing life and assures a quiet ride.
  • Aluminum housing provides easy press installation.
(These directly replace your stock bushings).
  • Plastic internal inserts rotate for smooth control arm movement.
  • Plastic thrust washers control fore and aft movement without
    binding up the suspension.
  • Bushings have a limited life time warranty to the original purchaser.

When you order a control arm with Del-a-lum bushings. Global West will warranty the the control arm, bushings, and shafts for as long as you own your car.
This is a limited warranty with restrictions. For further information about our warranty contact Global West.

68-72 A-BODY CONTROL ARM & SPINDLE KIT

These exclusive Detroit Speed control arm and spindle kit is designed to work as an integrated system on your vehicle. The Detroit Speed spindle is 1-1/2" taller than the stock spindle and provides 2" of drop from stock height. The taller spindle height improves handling by modifying the camber curve resulting in a negative camber gain during suspension compression. The stock steer arms mount in the optimal location to minimize bump steer.

DSE’s A-Body tubular upper control arms provide increased strength and additional positive caster. They feature five axis laser cut tube ends and ball joint pockets for a precise fit. The upper control arms are TIG welded in fixtures to guarantee geometric accuracy and repeatability. They have Delrin bushings, new ball joints, and a gloss black powdercoat finish.

The DSE A-Body lower control arms feature a robust tubular design with gussets and a cross brace. They feature five axis laser cut tube ends and ball joint pockets for a precise fit. The lower control arms are TIG welded in fixtures to guarantee geometric accuracy and repeatability. They have Delrin bushings with steel housings and crush tubes, new ball joints, and a gloss black powdercoat finish.
